Vegan Food Options at Frankfurt Airport, Germany

Visited in July 2021

my big The airport in Frankfurt has its own train station and therefore you are likely to come by or take the train if you travel to or from Frankfurt airport. You might come hungry, like I did.

Unfortunately, there are not many options for vegan food close to the trains. You should opt for a classical pretzel or accept a vegetarian option. There is a Thai restaurant called Thong Thai, which offers veggie noodles with eggs. Simply ask to leave the eggs out and you´re good to go.

Once you check in, drop off luggage and go through the luggage check you are in the gate area (in case you forgot what flying is like after 2 years of Covid). Let me tell you that was a surprise! There were a couple of vegan options I did not expect at all, which was such a nice encounter.

I haven´t checked out the restaurants but the shops as I was in a slight hurry that day (who can relate?). But here is a list of things you can expect at the airport at the shops:

  • Vegan sushi (13.40€) – natsu
  • Vegan rice triangle called onigiri (4€ appr.) with shiitake sojasauce – very few mushrooms but still filling due to the rice – also natsu
  • Pretzels of course (although they are not always vegan, therefore, you should check the ingredients list)
  • Sunflower wrap (5.40€) – random bakery
  • Poke bowl – don´t remember the brand

I´m pretty sure some restaurants offer vegan options, too – that is up for discussion when I visit that airport at my next travel.

The bar below shows you an average of ampunt of options, quality of available plant-based food and prices. Prices are at 100% -very expensive- as it is about an airport, where we will always pay way too much.

How was your experience with airports so far? Is there any airport you´ve been at where vegan options were abundant? Let me know in the comments.

  • Amount of Options 60% 60%
  • Food Quality 70% 70%
  • Prices (from low to high) 100% 100%

Tudder Tudder is the new dating app only for farmers and their cows. It works just like good old Tinder, so there's nothing new there. At first you choose if you are looking for bulls or cows. Once that's done, off you go virtually mating. What is it really for...
